Connect in the summer sun
Looking back at our annual tenant barbecue at Zandkasteel
Last week, the Zandkasteel was all about connection and coming together. During our annual tenants’ BBQ, residents, entrepreneurs, and partners gathered at our iconic location in Amsterdam Southeast. Since the reopening of the Zandkasteel, this moment of connection has grown into a beloved tradition within our community.
Community building starts with meeting each other
At Re:Invent, we believe that strong communities are built at the intersection of personal contact, hospitality, and shared experiences. That’s why we enjoy organizing moments where people can come together outside of the work context. This summer barbecue once again offered a perfect opportunity: a relaxed setting to catch up, meet new faces, and strengthen bonds.
Delicious food, a relaxed atmosphere, and a festive ending
Our in-house caterer, Mr. Schalkie, surprised guests with flavorful dishes and refreshing drinks. As the sun slowly set, the atmosphere became even more festive thanks to a DJ set that brought the evening to a relaxed yet danceable close.
Why this works
Events like these not only strengthen relationships but also make our work and meeting spaces feel more human. Whether you’re a creative start-up, a social organization, or an established company, the power of connection is universal.
Tips for your own community
Are you working on building an engaged community yourself? Consider organizing recurring informal gatherings that create space for people to meet. Often, the greatest impact lies in the simplicity of sharing a meal and spending time together.
