Zandkasteel Tours 2026

Discover Zandkasteel

Those who truly want to experience the Sandcastle can now join a guided tour that leads you through the building's hidden spots and distinctive lines. Museum Van Eesteren's tours in 2025 were fully booked within a short time. New tickets are available for 2026, ideal for anyone who wants to see this monument up close.

The Sandcastle in Amsterdam Southeast was designed in the late 1980s by Alberts & Van Huut and is regarded as a key example of organic architecture in the Netherlands. The building began as the headquarters of the NMB and later ING, and has held municipal monument status since 2017. The redevelopment by Wonam and the meticulous renovation by Max van Huut have transformed the building into a place where living, working, learning, and hospitality come together.

During the tour, you walk through the characteristic Binnenstraat and past seven of the ten towers. Here, you see how light, air, greenery, and art form a unified whole. What was once a closed office now feels like a spacious and accessible urban landscape. The guided tour shows you the Sandcastle in a way you wouldn't easily discover on your own: the unexpected vistas, varying levels, and flowing forms make the experience extra special. Anyone interested in architecture, Amsterdam Southeast, or the history of this monumental building will find this tour an inspiring way to get to know the Sandcastle better.
